Big security on a shoe-string budget

I was at lunch today talking to Mark B. – a fellow TEHC member that is in the process of starting his own company – about how small companies can effectively build a security program even with a limited budget. The key to making this successful, is first to have a thorough understanding on how to build a program – obviously followed by a thorough understanding of the small company you are working for. The “big guys”‘ usually don’t have time for the little guys – the little guys need is a specialized experienced security boutique. The solutions are out there and they don’t have to costs millions of dollars – heck many solutions are free (only cost of implementation & hardware) yes I said free.

So if you are a small “Mom & Pop” shop, don’t worry there are companies (or soon will be) that are specifically tailored for you.
